In the G.O. sixth read above comprehensive orders were issued in consonance with the provisions of section 34 of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (Central Act No.49 of 2016) and in supersession of the orders issued in the G.Os second, fourth and fifth read above specifying that necessary amendments will be made to the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996.
2. Accordingly, the following notification shall be published in the Telangana Gazette Dated: 23.07.2019 . NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of Constitution of India and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Telangana, hereby makes the following amendments to the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 issued in G.O.Ms.No.436, General Administration (Services-D) Department, dated the 15th October, 1996 read with G.O.Ms.No.196, General Administration (Services-D) Department, dated the 28th May, 2016:-
AMENDMENT
In the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996, in rule 2,- 1. in sub-rule (23), the following item shall be added namely:- “g) “Person with Benchmark Disability” means a person with not less than forty percent of a specified disability where specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms and includes a person with disability where specified disability has been defined in measurable terms, as certified by the certifying authority.”
2. In the said rules,- in rule 22,- in sub-rule (2), (a) for clause (b), the following clause shall be substituted namely,- “(b) Out of fifty appointments to be made on the basis of open competition, four appointments shall be reserved under direct recruitment for the persons with benchmark disabilities.”
