I Invite kind attention to the subject and references cited . In this regard , it is to inform that vide reference 1 cited , Sri Mohammad Ahmed Shariff , Govt . WHIP , A.P . Legislative Council , Amaravathi , Vijayawada has requested that the Muslim elders of West Godavari District has brought forth the problems being faced by the Muslim community whose surname is Mohammad " and " Abdul in obtaining BC_E Caste Certificates from the Revenue authorities .

 Encl : As above . 

In this connection , it is to inform that already this office has clarified that there is no strict co - relation between name / surname / prefix or suffix of the name and caste to accept or reject a caste claim straight away . As per the provisions lald down in Act 16 of 1993 and If field enquiry reveals the caste claim as genuine then there is no bar to issue BC - E caste certificates to Muslims possessing the surnames like " Mohammad " and " Abdul " vide reference 2nd cited . ( Copy enclosed ) . In view of the above , the Special Chief Secretary , office of the CCLA , Andhra Pradesh , Amaravthi is requested to make necessary provisions in the software ( Mee - seva ) so as to enable the caste issuing authorities to issue caste certificates to Muslims belonging to BC - E category and specifically mentioned from Sl.No.1 to 14 In G.O.Ms.No.23 , BCW ( C - 2 ) Dept. , dated : 7-7-2007 ..
