Sub:- PM POSHAN (Mid Day Meal Scheme) - Providing of fortified Ragi Jaava to the students studying in classes I to X during the year 2023-24 - Reg.

All the District Educational Officers in the State are hereby informed that Government have accorded permission vide memo 3rd cited, for supply of fortified Ragi Java to the students in collaboration with Sri Satya Sai Annapoorna Trust who will provide the raw material required for preparation of Ragi Java.

Further, it is informed that, Sri Satya Sai Annapoorna Trust will provide separately packed fortified Ragi powder and Jaggery powder to the district points

From the district level, the District Educational Officers will take necessary steps

to transport the Raagi powder and Jaggery powder to the school point.

At the school level, the Ragi Java shall be prepared by the Cook-cum-Helpers of the Mid Day Meal Scheme by adding the Ragi powder to boiled water. After the ragi powder is cooked for 4 to 5 minutes, an equal quantity of jaggery powder is to be added and cooked to achieve the required consistency and then served to the students.

In view of the above, all the District Educational Officers in the State are instructed as follows:

(i) To place the requirement of Ragi Java powder & Jaggery Powder @ 10 Gram Ragi Powder & 10 Gram Jaggery Powder per day/ per student for 3 days a week to the Sri Satya Sai Annapoorna trust to be served to students for 3 days when eggs are not provided.

(ii) To make necessary arrangements for transport of Ragi Java powder and Jaggery powder to the school point and see that the Ragi Java is provided to the students from 20.06.2023 by covering 5,000 students from each district and progressively extended to all students in all 28,606 schools from 01.07.2023.
