Ref:- PM POSHAN guidelines 2022 issued by Government of India.
The Personal attention of all the District Educational Officers is invited to the discussions held during the video conference of 20.07.2024, wherein instructed to organise "Thithi Bhojan" Programme in Mid Day Meals in all the schools on 30.07.2024.
The Concept and Benefits of Thithi Bhojan are as follows.
Concept: To encourage the community participation in the scheme, the concept of "Thithi Bhojan" in which the community provides nutritious and healthy food to the children as an additional food item or full meal is being initiated in all the Schools Under this programme, the members of the community contribute/sponsor food on special occasions/festivals in the form of sweets, namkeen, fruits etc., as an additional item or complete full meal.
Benefits:- Thithi Bhojan helps to develop a sense of belonging among the community. It also helps in supplementation of the nutritional value of meal provided under the scheme. "Thithi Bhojan" facilitates development of rapport between a school and the local community. The concept also helps in including the feeling of equity among the children of all communities. Thithi Bhojan through the supplementary nutrition's helps in strengthening the immunity of school children.
All the District Educational Officers are once again requested to issue instructions to all the Head Masters to implement "Thithi Bhojan" in all the schools in Mid Day Meals on 30.07.2024 in consultation with local community. Also instruct the Mandal Educational Officers and Head Masters to post Geo tagged photos and Geo tagged videos of "Thithi Bhojan" and community involvement to quality coordinators who will in turn upload in Google driver of Government of India.
