Sub: Samagra Shiksha Telangana Gender & Equity Formation of Girl child Empowerment Clubs in schools Formation of Girl Child Empowerment Clubs in Schools during the year 2024-25-Certain Instructions Issued - Reg.

The attention of all the DEOs & EO-DPOs, SS in the State is invited to the subject cited. They are informed that Girl Child Empowerment Clubs (GCECs) are to be formed in the identified 3300 schools as per the list enclosed under Adolescence Education and Empowerment Programme for Girls during 2024-25 with the following objectives and modalities.

Objectives of the programme:

To create a mechanism to identify and report vulnerable issues/abuse/risky behaviour/ threats/ eve teasing etc. To set up a grievance redress system in place with emphasis on "preventing an offence" with timely intervention. (Strengthening the linkages between School and local Police)

To create awareness on adolescence education concerns like- Growing up changes, health & amp; hygiene, ARSII, gender issues.

 To enable adolescent girls to articulate their issues and know their rights, counter shame and fear, build up self-esteem and self-confidence, and develop ability to take on responsibility for self, relationships and (to an extent) society around them.

Composition of GCEC:

Chairperson: Headmaster

Member Convenor: Girl Child Friendly Teacher

Members: 10-12 girls @ 2 active girls per class

External members: Woman constable from local police station/ SHE team incharge

Periodicity:

GCEC Meetings will be conducted on the dates mentioned in the annexure, at least once a month to;

to identify the vulnerable issues/risky behaviour among students

to create awareness on identified topics of adolescent concerns through line department representatives/GFT

School level sessions shall be conducted once a month and the session strategy includes- identifying vulnerable issues/risky behaviour among students & creating awareness on the undermentioned topics:
