Suggestive Action Plan for improvement of SSC Public Examination results - March/April, 2025
Planning
Syllabus is to be completed by 10.01.2025 as per academic calendar.
Morning and Evening special classes are to be conducted.
Every District/school should have its own time table and action plan for special classes. The time table should contain the subjects that are to be taken in the morning and evening hours.
In schools with more than one section/medium, all the teachers handling those sections/media of that particular subject should attend the special classes and the sections/media are NOT to be merged.
Special classes are to be allocated as per the need and requirement of that school.
HMs should see that more special classes are to be allocated for subjects like Mathematics, Physical Science and English etc. in which performance of the student's is low and is to be improved.
HM should monitor special classes.
Special Classes
During Special Classes, first 20 minutes are to be allocated to explain the key concepts of the topic of that day and the remaining 40 minutes for practice.
In each session, key concepts /three questions based on one or two academic standards are to be covered. Encourage students to read the lesson and write answers on their own.
Instruct students to practice questions from Abhyasa Deepika for better performance.
Regular periods
As the syllabus will already be completed in regular periods, one day is to be allotted for explanation of the lesson/topic, the next day; a test on that lesson/topic is to be conducted based on the academic standards. On the third day, the question paper is tobe analysed and the students are to be given instructions on how to write answers for those questions.
They can use Principles of Evaluation of previous years for this purpose. Teachers should focus on neat and legible hand writing of students.
The previous year question papers can be analysed as per the academic standards.
Level based practice
Every teacher should have a comprehensive plan for the entire syllabus, simultaneously focusing on each and every individual student's learning levels.
They have to identify the levels of the students. It is very much essential as practice is to be given based on their levels so as to obtain fruitful results.
For the students who are struggling to get through the exam, teachers should give personal attention and practice should be given on key concepts of those subjects.
For example, in mathematics graphs and geometrical constructions, in science diagrams and experiments, in social studies map pointing and comprehension passages and in languages-comprehension passages and discourses are to be focussed.
For the average students, to improve their performance better, ask the students to focus on key concepts of all the lessons/chapters. Give practice to them based on academic standards.
For the above average students, extra practice can be given on a wide range of questions covering all academic standards.
Review the progress of the student's at regular intervals. Give practise to them for further improvement.
Students can be shown T- SAT videos by content experts on exam preparation which are available on You-tube.
Adoption of Students
Teachers should adopt the students.
They should make wake up calls to them. Call parents, interact and discuss with them about the study schedule of their children and their lapses in their preparation of the subjects.
If any child is weak in any topic or any subject, then it is to be informed to the concerned subject teacher. Subject teacher should maintain a record of such details.
Parent Teacher Meeting
Discuss the progress of the students with parents in Parent Teacher Meeting.
Ensure regular attendance of the students with the parents.
In case of hostellers, discuss the progress of the student with hostel warden.
Motivation and counseling
To increase zeal towards their goal, motivational classes are to be conducted.
Counselling is to be conducted to reduce stress, examination phobia on students and to build confidence.
. Invite Special guests for motivation/counselling purpose.
Pre-final Exams
Pre-final exams shall be conducted in February/March-2025. Time-table shall be given in the month of February - 2025.
. Performance of students in pre-final is to be analysed and necessary instructions/ suggestions are to be given to the students for improvement of their result in final exams.
