The broad objectives of EBSB initiative are as follows:
a) TO PROMOTE the spirit of national integration through a deep and structured engagement between all Indian States and Union Territories through a year-long planned engagement between States.
b) TO EXPOSE children to the diversity, natural resources and rich culture of India.
c) TO CELEBRATE the Unity in Diversity of our Nation and to maintain and strengthen the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people of our Country.
d) TO SHOWCASE the rich heritage and culture, customs and traditions of either State for enabling people to understand and appreciate the
diversity that is India, thus fostering a sense of common identity.
e) TO ESTABLISH long-term engagements and to foster an understanding of diverse socio-economic and living experiences and building empathy.
f) TO CREATE an environment which promotes learning between States by sharing best practices and experiences.
IMPLEMENTATION OF EBSB ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOLS:
1. Partnering State of TELANGANA for EBSB programme is HARYANA.
2. The EBSB activities shall begin in all schools from reopening day till last instructional day. Activities shall be included in different school occasions and festivals.
3. The Hindi Teacher/Hindi teaching Teacher shall be given in charge for EBSB activities. Where there is no Hindi teacher, any other/interested teacher may be
given in charge for EBSB activities.
4. The Schools shall constitute an EBSB Club in the school comprising of 2 students per class/section (preferably 1 Boy and 1 Girl). All the students in the class shall be
given equal opportunity to be in EBSB Club on rotation basis for every month. EBSB club of each class may be given a unique name of famous & eminent personalities,
freedom fighters, poets, districts etc., of Haryana state.
5. “State Project Note book”: Each student has to maintain a “State Project Note book” on the partnering state HARYANA on important facts, basic knowledge,
cuisines, historical places, indigenous games of HARYANA and other important and interesting information about HARYANA.
6. Exposure of students to alphabets, proverbs and 100 sentences in Haryanvi language: The schools shall give exposure of alphabets, proverbs and 100 simple
sentences in Haryanvi language which are useful to students in day today life.
7. “Themed Display Board/Wall Magazine” on Haryana: The schools shall display Historical Monuments, Dressing Styles, paintings, handicrafts, alphabets and basic sentences of Haryana on Display board/Wall Magazine. The students shall contribute in making wall magazine and themed display board by putting their ideas/thoughts on the themes.
The items displayed on “Themed Display Board/Wall Magazine” shall be spirally binded in a book with a title “COLLECTION OF EBSB ACTIVITES” and shall be preserved in school library for reference. This book will encourage the students to enhance the participation in forthcoming EBSB activities and feel a sense of pride.
8. Pledge taking by the students: The students shall take a pledge on Swachhta/Say No to Single-use plastic/water saving/ Energy Saving/Waste
Management/National Unity in Haryanvi language on the day reserved for this activity. The pledge shall be prepared by the teacher/s assigned with the duties and responsibility for carrying out the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat activities in the school. The pledge on the given themes has to be written first in our Language and then it shall be translated in Haryanvi language.
9. Talking Hour, News on the partnering States: The schools have to arrange their morning assembly in the way that would have talking hour or news time in which the teacher or student have a brief talk on the current events, national icons, social reformers or famous personalities hailing from partnering state Haryana or any other theme significant to the partnering state Haryana.
11. Cultural exchange programme: Cultural exchange programme shall be organized virtually (Zoom, Google Meet etc.)/physically to showcase the rich cultural heritage of both the states i.e., Telangana & Haryana between the students.
12. Food Fests: The Schools shall organize Food Fests with Haryana dishes.
13. Competitions: Singing, Drawing, Essay writing, Elocution, Poster making, Quiz programmes etc. shall be organized on language learning, culture, traditions & music, tourism & cuisine, sports and sharing of best practices etc. of Haryana.
14. Cultural Activities: Performing folk dances of Haryana, Singing songs of Haryana, Skits and Dramas etc.
15. Scrap Book: Each student has to maintain a Scrap Book on the partnering state HARYANA with paper cuttings/magazine cuttings/ News etc. on current affairs of
HARYANA and other important and interesting information about HARYANA. Students shall collect and paste the paper cuttings of Haryana state in their scrapbook.
16. Letter writing to schools in Haryana: The students of Telangana shall be encouraged to write letters to students of Haryana schools where ideas, culturalbexchange happens. This habit of writing letters develop PEN FRIENDS. The students can write letters in English, Hindi and Haryanvi. The Contact numbers, Postal address of schools of Haryana will be provided to the schools by the State Office.
